All About Lips

Hello again! Recently I was asked to write a post about different lip products. Lips are very important for me, that's one of the first things I  look at in a person, and no one likes to see chapped lips.

Let's start first with the normal lip moisturizer, lip balm. I prefer the ones in a tube instead of a pot, I think it's more hygienic. It's part of my daily skincare routine and I always have one with me. Then there's the tinted lip balm, this one's from the range Maybelline, my shade has a pink colour to it and sometimes I like to wear this on more natural makeup days to lighten up my face, it still moisturizes the lips, instead of drying the lips like most of the lipsticks do. I am a big fan of matte lipstick, but having really dry lips these are not the best thing to put on because they are really drying. While the darker lipstick looks amazing on people, worn in the wrong way can also look bad: they tend to attract attention to spots and redness that have a similar colour to it, so whenever you decide to wear dark lips remember to cover spots, blemishes and redness with concealer, foundation or bb cream! Finally I have the lipgloss, this one I got it as a birthday gift, it's from Kiko. I'm not really into lipglosses since I prefer more looking matte lipsticks rather than shiny ones. The good thing about lipglosses is that they don't dry in patchy ways like lipsticks do. You may be thinking now, did she forget the lip liner and the lip crayon? No, I didn't. I just don't own one, I don't like lip liners and I still haven't had the chance to buy a lip crayon.

Have a nice (lazy) weekend!

Blogroll

I thought I might share with you my favourite blogs that I like to read. Hope you'll enjoy reading them as much as I do.

Young Soul - I also follow her on instagram, the pictures she takes are incredible, her blog is non-beauty related and she mostly posts whatever she feels like.
Lily Pebbles - What she posts about is always different and the advice she gives on makeup is great.
Jennypurr - This is where I always go when I need to know something about skincare.
Berrie Blogs - Her blog is lovely, it's a mixture of everything so it's always nice to read about what she has to say.
The Chick's Got Style - Her blog is so classy, I love to read the posts about her lifestyle and the advice she gives for the diy for the furniture, the outfit's ideas are great.
From Roses - This blog is really good for reviews on products, especially because you can find products from pricey brands and also from the drugstore, it's a good compromise for everything.
I Am Nia - It's just a different beauty blog that I frequently like to read.
Parisian To Be - She puts personality in what she writes and I feel like the reviews about the products are always a 100% sincere.
Rasberry And Red - She is actually polish so her posts are always written in two languages, this is another non-beauty related blog, she has a passion for travelling in new places to visit and I love her outfits.
NatuRia Beauty - The products she talks about are mostly natural beauty products, especially for skincare I go on her blog.

If you guys have any other blogs to recommend
I would be happy to give them a look!

Polaroid Fujifilm

I've had my Nikon D5000 for over 2 years now; and that was when my passion for photography started. Since then I've been interesting in all types of photography and a year back my eye was caught by polaroid pictures, the idea of capturing every moment on a small white film amused me, and when the time came to wish for something for my birthday (by the way, it was last month), I didn't think about it twice and asked for a polaroid instax mini 7.
I couldn't have been happier with this little object! It's just a fun way to take pictures with friends (instead of all those selfies), especially because  it captures genuine emotions since you can't retake the photo.
The films -the photos taken- are quite expensive, about 80 cents each, but the camera itself is 55 euro.
At first your pictures might not come out as you expected them to, you'll have to get used to it and learn when and how to use the right effect. But personally, I think that it takes really good pictures and the colours are amazing. If you are interested in buying a polaroid I would totally recommend this one!

Do you have a polaroid and what do you think about it?

Origins GinZing Energy-boosting moisturizer

Origins has been the first brand that I've been introduced to when I got into skincare. I love their natural products and their amazing scents.I read many reviews on this moisturizer and after having gotten to the bottom of my day moisturizer I decided to go out and buy this cream. The Origins GinZing Energy-boosting moisturizer is a lovely cream that has the smell of fresh oranges which I personally love. I must say that the first times I tried it I was pretty disappointed with this product, I didn't see any changes in my skin; and it didn't make it any brighter as it claims to do. So I left it for a few weeks in the corner of my skincare stash, and only picked it up a few days ago, then I noticed the amazing things this cream can do! It left my skin really soft, as if I just put on serum (you know what I'm saying?) and somehow it brightened the skin up. So it took me a while to actually like this product and I will definitely repurchase this once finished.Altogether I think it's an amazing product and Origins has once again made a fantastic job. It's perfect for people with oily skin as it gives the right moisture without overdoing it and making the skin look shiny.

What is your favourite moisturizer?

DIY: Goodbye Yellow Nails

After this long never existing winter here (hi America!) I am abandoning (sigh sigh) my dark nailpolishes and swtiching to  more colourful shades for the sping.Last week after taking off my favourite nailpolish "sole mate" from Essie I noticed that my nails were yellow. I was so proud of my long nails as it took me forever to let my nails grow due to my bad nail biting habit (I'm trying to stop).
I decided to try this recipe that I've found while I was pouring the internet. I'm one of those really infuriating people who doesn't take quantity's very seriously - I tend to just dive straight in and hope for the best.

 Ingredients:
 baking soda
 lemon juice
 any container

Just mix the two in a container, mind that it will fizz a little but nothing special.
This experience taught me a lesson: never wear (especially dark) nailpolish for too long and always remember to wear a base coat under  as it helps to prevent the yellow stains.
